The CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test)
What is the CogAT?
The Cognitive Ability Test (CogAT) is a widely used group administered ability test. First developed and published in 1954 as the Lorge-Thorndike Intelligence test, it has been revised several times over the years to its current version: CogAT (Form 6). It is often used to identify gifted students and helps the parent understand their children’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses and learning styles.

The Iowa Tests of Basic Skills® (Grades K-8) and Iowa Tests of Educational Development® (Grades 9-11/12) are sufficient for many home and private school state requirements for an annual nationally standardized achievement test. These tests can be administered in your own home by someone with at least a BA degree.
The Iowa Tests® measure the skills and achievement of students in grades K-11/12 in Reading , Language Arts, Mathematics and the optional tests of Social Studies, Science, and Sources of Information.

THE ONLINE OLSAT MAY BE GIVEN SEPERATELY FROM THE STANFORD10 TEST BUT ONLY FOR HOMESCHOOLS OR PRIVATE SCHOOLS. The OLSAT 8 Online is a nationally standardized ability test for Grade 3 Spring-Grade12. The OLSAT 8 is multiple-choice and timed assessment, helps educators find out how students process and is often used for giftedness assessment. This technically excellent instrument is a valid and reliable tool for objectively measuring ability. The score report helps parents understand their child’s processing strengths and weaknesses.

What is Woodcock-Johnson® III?
A “Basic” Woodcock-Johnson® III (WJ® III) achievement test package is sufficient for many home school and private school state requirements for an annual nationally standardized achievement test. It can be done any month of the year and requires a specially trained administrator. The “Basic” WJ® III achievement package includes 9 tests, which evaluate reading, written language and math and takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
You will receive a report and consultation immediately following the test session.
