Debbie Thompson
Debbie received a BA (cum laude) in Psychology from Wake Forest University and an Master of Arts (magna cum laude) in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a Sr. Research Associate for 5 years in clinical trials, a consultant for the Wake County Public School System for 9 years and started Triangle Education Assessments in 2000. She is an experienced tutor, trained to conduct both the WJ® III Achievement and Cognitive batteries, and a distributor for The Iowa Tests® and the Stanford Achievement Tests®. Triangle Education Assessments also distributes career inventories, abilities tests and practice tests. Debbie, her husband Chuck, and their 3 children are very active at Apex Baptist Church where Chuck has been the Associate/Youth Minister for 24 years. Debbie loves to encourage homeschooling families and to help all children know that they are uniquely and wonderfully made. She tests with the WJ III, provides group testing, does consultations, speaks to homeschool groups and resides in Apex, NC, near Raleigh. Janna Ethridge
Janna Ethridge has a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Education (K-8 Certification). She is a homeschooling mom of 3 children. She has taught at a private school in Brea, California and at one in Lynchburg, Virginia. She greatly desires to help families and children and loves both the classroom and counseling settings. In Lynchburg, Virginia she worked at a center where the primary focus was to work with abused children and with children who were having behavioral and academic problems in school. She enjoys tutoring, testing and consulting and finds it fascinating to see how God made each one of us so wonderfully unique and with various learning styles. Because of learning differences she utilizes a multi-sensory approach in tutoring and has had some training in Orton Gillingham. She and her husband offer a tutoring ministry in the Raleigh area. Tina Miszewski
Tina Miszewski lives on the northwest side of Apex and is a homeschooling Mom to a middle schooler, elementary aged child, preschooler, and baby. She has a degree in elementary education and has taught for the Wake County public schools, a private school in London, and at home for the past 13 years. She especially enjoys testing elementary aged children that need an energetic and encouraging tester to help them do their personal best. She also enjoys supporting Moms new to homeschooling by sharing curriculum and support group suggestions. Tina enjoys tutoring children who struggle with learning how to read. Carolyn Justice
Carolyn Justice has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education. Her experience has been enriched by the 29 years she served in Christian ministry and 19 years as a home school educator and leader in several home school organizations. Carolyn has written A Concise Guide For Home School Families Planning for High School. Her book is the result of the experience she gained, the wise advice of friends, research, and tools she developed in the process of preparing her children for high school and beyond . Carolyn has presented her material to several home school groups and has made her book available for purchase. She is also available for personal consultation appointments for home school families with teens to aid them in planning their journey through high school. Tara Tarlton
Tara Tarlton lives in Durham with her husband and their three children. Tara earned a BA in Liberal Studies and a Multiple- Subjects Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University and an MA in Christian Education from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She has taught elementary, middle school, and high school students in Christian schools in San Francisco and a variety of co-ops and tutorials in North Carolina. She has been home schooling since 2000. Tara has training and experience working with students with special needs and learning differences and modifying curriculum and instruction for these students. In addition to teaching her own children, Tara teaches literature and writing classes, tutors reading, writing, and math, administers the Woodcock-Johnson III, and gives curriculum consultations for parents seeking to modify their student’s instruction to address learning difficulties and special needs.
